f? ,411 DR RUSSELL J ELLIOTT Throughout our four years sn the Franklsn Hsgh School our class has had a long and valuable asso csatson wsth Dr Ellsott who thss last year was our home room teacher In our freshman year Dr Ellsott taught us World Hsstory and Publsc Speaksng In addstson to besng sn charge of the celebratson of the 250th Annsversary of the bsrth of Bensamsn Franklsn he was the faculty advssor of Franklsns members of the Rsverssde Nesghborhood Assembly Youth Group Dr Ellsott also that year revsved the Debatsng Socsety whsch was made up predoms nately of freshmen As sophomores we attended classes under Dr Ellsott sn Publsc Speaksng and Modern European Hsstory as well as sn a new Typsng course Bessdes besng contsnually actsve sn the R N A organszatson Dr Ellsott accompansed a group of sophomores to Bermuda dursng the Sprsng Vacotson and traveled frequently wsth the Debatsng Team to upstate New York Debatsng League tournaments and the Valley Forge Debatsng Tournament as faculty advssor and coach Dr Ellsott snstructed our sunsor class sn Amerscan Hsstory and sn Government He acted as the faculty advssor of our successful Junsor Prom at the Tavern on the Green of the newly sntroduced Natsonal Honor Socsety chapter of the Debatsng Team whsch entered the New York prsvate school league and of the Rsverssde Nesghborhood Assembly of whsch he was elected Secretary Thss past year our sensor year our class per haps partscspated sn the most courses and extra currsculcsr actsvstses wsth Dr Ellsott We studsed sn hss courses on Socsology Problems of Amerscan Democracy and Mussc and Art We took trsps wsth hsm to the perennsal debatsng grounds upper New York State and Valley Forge to the New York Yacht Club to Town Hall to hear Ssr Thomas Bee In addstson Dr Ellsott was faculty advssor of thss yearbook compsled by the Sensor Class of a most successful Sensor Prom at the Waldorf of the Debatsng Team of the Honor Socsety and of the Rsverssde Nesghborhood Assembly Perhaps most sm portant of all Dr Ellsott accompansed a group of fsve Sensor boys to the East Coast Model Unsted Natsons at Brown Unsverssty where Franklsn repre sented the natsons of Argentsna and the Domsnscan Republsc Just recently Dr Ellsott recesved the Freedom Foundatsons Award for Outstandsng Teachsng a cstotson and a medal Because of thss rschly de served honor and because of hss four years as con stant advssor and frsend to the sensor class we gratefully dedscate thss yearbook to hsm Q ' 1 ,l K3 f Y l .
