PRINCIPAL S MESSAGE As we come to the end of the first year m our new Franklm Plerce I-Ilgh School we look backward to thls year of organrzatron forward to the thmgs that Ile ahead and we are remmd ed of the ancrent Roman Cnod Janus who had two faces one lookmg forward and the other backward I ookmg back over the year I am xmpressed wxth the many varned accompllshments of both students and faculty We began the year by movmg smoothly mto class work and some stu dent actlvltres even nn the face of many dlffx cultles I have een many already establlshed schools wlth more dlfflcultles ln gettmg the school year under way than we had Most of the credlt for thus good begmnlng goes to the stu dents and thelr teachers for their splendid spxrlt of cooperatnon and helpfulness We organlzed a student councxl whxch was welded mto a smooth runnmg unxt not by any edrct from the faculty but from eager and wxllmg students from frve drfferent groups lhert were no 1nd1v1dual or group J alousxes ln fact old loyaltles were at once forgotten and the new srngle group consclousness took over Agam student understandmg and faculty gu1d ance were responslble We successfully undertook some lrmlted outsnde actrvxtles xncludlng football musxc bas ketball and track Curls athletrcs got underway w1th a very successful season realxzed The H1 Y thc Key Club Lettcrmen s Club Rlfle Club and other groups have been frrmly estab lxshed Scholastlcally we have set for ourselves the hlgh goal of axdxng students ln achxevmg the fmest possrble educatnon We have challenged you as students to do your best and to be your best at all trmes And we feel that most of you have met that challenge Indeed as we look back over the year and see ourselves on the short shxft basls at Park land then dodglng workers hammers stepping over thelr equipment ln the halls and clot sters rushmg back and forth to the two grade school gvmnasxums we can be very proud of our accompllshments As we now turn to the future 1t IS dlffrcult to predxct wh t our success w1ll be How ever wnth the completron of our beautxful new gym our cafeterla our lnbrary and shops and wrth all our classes and actxvrtxes centered here at the school If ns safe to say that we shall have a really outstandmg school both rn physxcal equxpment and student morale We shall ste an ever expandmg and constantly more useful actnvxty and class program rn the days ahead Wlth conttnued cooperatlon wxth earnest effort and wnth our eyes always turned toward the hnghest and best motlves and actrons we shall have a school whlch IS second to none xn tht State of Washmgton And from such a school no ssudent exther now or rn the future can help btxng alded tremendously rn maklng hrs lxfe the best that can be made In behalf of the tnturc faculty may I say Best wishes for your continued success and happmess I0 1. 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 - 1 p - 1. . 1 ' ' , . ,, . . , . . . ,1 o ' c. . , 1 ' 1 1 1 1 ' . 1 . . , , .
