This, my first year at Franklin, has been a very pleasant one. It has been a real pleasure to get to know you and serve you. Franklin Junior High is a school old in memories, with many able graduates who have passed through its doors. Students and alutnni can. indeed point with pride to their school. Ninth Grade Cabinet ' We. the representatives of the seven ninth grade home rooms, appreciate the honor bestowed upon us by our classmates. As members of the Cabinet. we have tried to serve the Class of 1954 to the best of our ability. Glowing memories of Franklin will be ours for many a year. Highlights of our stay at Franklin were the P.T.A. Carnival. Music Festival. Talent Shows, Field Days, and Outing to Excelsior. As really good scouts and entertainers we shall remember our faculty dancers, especially Mr. Muede- king, genuine Scotch Highlander. To Mr. Olsen. our teachers, librarian. the clerical and janitorial staff we express our appreciation for such pleasant and profitable three years in Franklin School. FRANKLIN CHAPTER OF The National Junior Honor Society In 1946 a Franklin Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society was organized under the tutelage of Miss McCarthy. Honor students from the eighth and ninth grades are initiated annually on the basis of scholarship. citizenship, service, leadership, and character. Franklin Chapter at present has torty-two members, twenty-eight of whom are new initiates. The mem- bers pictured above have won the society's gold torch award.
