There have been many meet- ings where students and faculty members have met to talk over common problems, to arrive at an agreed course of action, to try it out, and then to meet again to evalu- ate the results. Our students are becoming more and more aware of the need of work- ing togethel' to make our school life an example of successful living. Such prob- lems as building and ground appearance, school reputation, attendance standards, and community relationships are no longer looked upon as a problem belong- ing to someone else but rather a vital part of their ow11 living and concern. When young people not only recognize these problems but are willing to do something about them, we can feel confident that they are preparing for life in a way that will be lasting and not forgotten or outgrown the day after graduation. OUR PRINCIPAL SPEAKS IT IS A great American privilege to work in the class room with other American boys and girlsg it is also a privilege to engage in school activities with fellow pupils. We learn by doing. Any procedure in the life of the school that makes a boy or girl a more unseliish and a more indus- trious person is good training for Amer- ivan citizenship. Strong people in the class room and in the activities make Franklin a strong school. This means that our pupils must excel in their quest for factual knowledge. They must create and participate in wholesome activities outside the class room, activities which grant equal honor and prestige for all races and religions. We must all be loyal, friendly, and tole- rant toward one another and honest, co- operative, and responsible in all our en- deavors. Our leaders must be active, clean, and fearless. Franklin will thus build strong Americans. Study your lessons, build good habits, and assure yourself a profitable living. The world pays off on industry and vision. Take part in our school activities, develop your talents and personality, and build a worthwhile life. Une hundred percent pupil, parent, and teacher participation in our school program is our objective. Our Big Business is to build an America of courage and character. Let's do our part. W. J.
