The name plays only an insig- nificant part. It has been claimed by some that one's character can be read from his handwriting. It behooves us then to make this picture of ourselves something to be admired. In these difficult days let us ask ourselves what type of character we are displaying. Are we wavering and indifferent or determined and anxious to do our part in the winning of this war? Are we workers? Are we careless or particular? What will our autographs show through the years? With this fact in mind the theme of autographs was selected. The signatures of many national and local figures were collected, in addition to those of your own Franklin Faculty. However, the theme doesn't end here. A great deal more White space was left for the purpose of having you all be partly responsible for the Tolo. You are to help in this respect by autographing the Tolos of your friends and thereby aiding in their completion. We present the 1943 Tolo to you hoping that you will derive as much pleasure in glancing over its pages as we have had in producing it. Because of the labor shortage the printer's deadline was much earlier than usual this year. As a result we were unable to include some autographs and other features which had been planned.
