P A U L B U N Y A N JUST AS the Romance of the vast forests of the West is part of our inheritance, so is mighty Paul Bunyan, legendary hero of the lumber camps. This genial, loveable character, who sprang from the funnybone and rare philosophical wisdom of rugged pioneer men, is the only indigenous American legendary figure. His quali- ties of strength, inventiveness and courage are symbolic of the mag- nificent physical exertion of Young Blood in a new country.
