DEDICATION Mrs. Mary V. Locklear In this 1949 edition of Maroon and Grey , we, the Senior Class, would like to honor Mrs. Locklear who has so faithfully directed our Senior activities. For four years we have studied History under her guidance, and we fully appreciate her thorough methods of teaching, and also her aptitude for getting the greatest possible amount of work from her students. Those o f us who have shared hours of work and fun with Mrs. Locklear have been made aware of her deep interest in people, her thoughtfulness for others, and her readiness to help in time of need. She demands honesty, loyalty and lots of hard work when there is a job to be done, and in return she gives of her time, effort, and encouragement to help us do it well. We know of no one who so thoroughly enjoys good conversation, nor one who keeps better informed on topics of current interest. Her keen sense of humor and ready wit in speaking make her an interesting person to know. And so, with our love, and in sincere appreciation of her help as teacher, counselor, and friend, we, the Senior Class, dedicate this 1949 edition of Maroon and Grey to MRS. MARY V. HERRING LOCKLEAR. 2
