A. L. Wes won Return As a Mreturneew to Franklin, Dr, Ar- thur Westcott brings a mighty goal. This is to create a program that would appeal to each youngsterw. The school offers an adequate academic program for college-bound students. Vocational education, however, has been neglected. This deficiency is being eliminated through the development of automotive and vocational units and the building of facilities for such classes. Dr. Vvesteott advocates the formulation of regular attendance habits in high school in preparation for the future. Dr. Wcistcott believes that we each need a certain amount of recognition as an individual. He practices his belief by getting to know the students personally. You see him often in the halls between classes talking to the students. 6'The real thrill comes from being a par- ticipantlw This is what Dr. Westcott said when asked how more students can become actively involved. Although many students have part-time jobs which prevent them from taking part in extra-curricular activities, there are some that need encouragement before becom- ing involved. Dr. Vvesteott stated, 'Lone person must encourage another and this encouragement catches like fire. You need to dedicate yourself to your school and to your future, and participate in things with a missionary Zealf, 18 Academics Ur. Arthur L. Westcott, Principal -ua, ' Alter two years in another assignment Dr. Westcott again serves the Franklin community. Here, he gets acquainted with his ofiice.
