Introduced by her husband and manager, Bob Green, Anita Bryant charmed Franklin's girls with her interesting accounts oflife in show business. She has performed for troops in Viet Nam with Bob Hopes group, and entertain ed at the White House, where she received a standing ovation. The r u n n er-u p for the Miss America title in 1965 sang several hit songs from her records. Miss Bryant announced to the F ra n k l in audience that she and Miss Debbie Bryant, MissAmerica ofi966, would entertain the fol- lowing evening for the Youth For Christ Rally at BensonHigh School. An attentive audience wit- nessed precision drills preformed bythe Marine Drum and Bug l e Corps . TheCorps preformed under the direction of Gunnery Sergeant D. Farmer. The Drum and Bugle Corps members practice up to eight hours aday, seven days a week, to at- tain their level of excellence. Gunnery Sergeant Joseph E. Huerta stated that the team is plan- ning to expand by adding six more instruments.

The Invaders play at the dance sponsored by the Lettermen. 24 After gamedances, sponsored by numerous school organizations through the Football and basket- ball seasons, provide a highlight among Franklin's many activities. Each dance, held either in the gym or the cafeteria, Followed an ex- citing sports activity. The Fund-raising dances host such musical combos as the Mon- tells, the Others, and the Invaders, Tv'ith'many ofthe combos made up of high school students. It is tradition For the gym to be decorated by the group spon- soring the dance, in accordance with the theme ofthe event.
