For the festivities at the first football game, the students of Franklin chose the i966 Homecom- ing Court. At the annual home- coming dance, senior Chris Walsh was crowned queen. At the Franklin-Grant Foot- ball game, Chris was presented to the crowd ina convertible driven by Franklin chemistry teacher Mr. Fletcher. Following in a second car were the three princesses: Elaine Schibel, iunior, Nancy Stoutenburg,sophomore, and Joann Vassar, Freshman. The Queen and her court were escorted by Mike Johnson, senior class vice-pres- identp .left Furnish, iunior class president, Bob Marshall, sopho- more class president, and Mike Nakata, president of Friars. Each dance, held either in the gym or the cafeteria, Followed an ex- citing sports activity. The Fund-raising dances host such musical combos as the Mon- tells, the Others, and the Invaders, Tv'ith'many ofthe combos made up of high school students. It is tradition For the gym to be decorated by the group spon- soring the dance, in accordance with the theme ofthe event.
