U,-,...i..,..... Mr. Arthur L. Westcott Principal University of Portland, Reed College, M. A. Ed. ADMINISTRATION The administrative department of Franklin High School is the backbone of die academic, athletic, and acti- vityprograms. However, the admini- strators prefer to advise fnot to tellj, and to assist Knot to leadl, the student government of Franklin. Without the diligent, effective Work put out by the Administration, Franklin would simply be another name in the PIL standings, not the School of Champions. Since Mr. Arthur Westcott's assump- tion ofthe duties of Principal four years ago at Franklin, the student body has been favorably impressed by his warm friendliness, readyhumor, and liberal student governmentviews. Mr. West- cott has continually shown himself to be a wise and versatile man. We are fortunate to have him as our Principal. Mr. Max Murray is the current Curri- culum Vice Principal. His work with the arrangement of classes, sched- uling, ordering of books and other supplies, and comprehensive evalu- ation of faculty members is seldom eulogized, but his work is appreciated and needed. Miss Carrie Grant and Mr. Michael Stipac are the Vice-Principals of Girls and Boys, respectively. Their ready help and concern are available to all members of the student body. In ad- dition to the general responsibilities whose execution contribute to the suc- cess of Franklin's activities Miss Grant serves as head counselor while Mr. Stipac is responsible for the arrange- ments for the building.
