Follow your calling, for, however various your talents may be, you can have but one calling capable of leading you to eminence and renownp follow resolutely the one straight path before you. These words were spoken over 100 years ago by a man who understood the principles of progress. The pioneers who settled Oregon used this same idea of advancement to a- chieve the goals to which they had aspired. The pioneers who struggled and fought to maintainthe landthey had developed were the same undaunted ones who shaped the path to the rapidly rising future . To this concept of progress we owe our gratitude. Ou r praise to the past men of Oregon can never be too high, for it is they who bestowed upon uslall that we have today.
