aww, facun Me ,aafszw This sky-view of Franklin again shows the architectural beauty of Franklin's campus from a different slant. Gordon Burbee, Franklin student flier, is responsible for the picture which was taken from his plane. Perhaps the students can imagine the immensity of our campus when the stadium is completed and the tennis courts and park are added next to the school. Franklin is now the most attractive school in Portland and soon in the future it will have the most up-to-date 'athletic facilities.

Panama Rmfh I Just as the satin smooth petals form a rose, the petals of charm, poise, graciousness, and beauty form the personality of Ruth King, Franklinls Rose Festival princess for 1940. Ruth, whose, soft, low voice charms all who listen, has shown outstanding leadership and ability in her school life. She has for many years been active in the city-wide activities of Girl Reserves, and has held offices in her class and several clubs. The first eye-catching points you notice when you meet Franklin's prize rose is her flashing smile of perfect White teeth, and the quiet friendliness of blue-green eyes. Her graceful posture truly makes this King a queen of youthful beauty.
