jm 1vf s $8 kQ wHH Being in classrooms, attending pep rallies, going to games, sitting in the library or sitting outside, these are all Campus Scenes Being with your friends and having a good time — there is always more to school than Academics. Learning about yourself, about life and about other people is also an im¬ portant part of school. Throughout your four years in high school you live, you learn and you grow. Education and socializing go hand in hand. We couldn’t have it any other way. Working hard ... hardly working? Donna Buchanio looks on while the class of ’81 goes to work ... Tim Kear¬ ney waits on customers at Kearney’s Drug Store while Chris Feeley stocks the shelves at Rico’s. Maria DiTondo and Phyllis Alger await customers with a smile, at Kings. Paula Sullivan, at Dip ’N Sip and Gregg McClay, at Carvel, display some of Franklin’s favorites. Kelly Stoughton works hard at Friendly’s and Mike Ti- bert straightens the tables at Marshall’s. Displaying a pizza is Terry Williams at Papa Gino’s, next door at Star Market Donna Walsh runs the register and Den¬ ise Dickinson gives service with a smile at Pizza Hut. Learning Never Ends Top U.S. officials Shirley M. Hufstedler and William F. Bolger, Secretary of Educa¬ tion and Postmaster General visited Franklin on September 20, 1980 to honor the new education stamp, “Learning Never Ends”. Mrs. Hufstedler noted that Franklin pre¬ served its traditions well. “You in Franklin have done an extraordinary job in moving forward in education,” she said. - % m ' mrm nnmi—Ti Trnona rii imm Him I ■ tltrr J- fa ' ' . . , ' ' ,, rMru ,w . huf C £«. W 5 ' V9 ,, Mrs. Shelly Robbie has done so much. Words can say so little when someone What can be said to someone who has done all that you have for us over the past four years. The title class advisor seems so unappropriate when we consider the many things, other than advise, that you have given to us. We will never forget the cream puffs or the auction pick-ups or all the clever posters and booklets you whipped up like they were nothing. You are a vital link in the chain that bonds the Class of 81. Although many thank-you’s have often gone unexpressed, we hope you will accept them now. We thank you for all you’ve given of yourself— so much more than we could ever ask. But most of all, thank you for being our friend. With all our love and appreciation, The Class of 81. Our feelings are best summed up in the words of Kahlil Gi¬ bran — Let not the waves of the sea separate us Now. and the years you have spent in our midst become a memory. You have walked among us a spirit, and your shadow has been a light upon our faces. Much have we loved you. But speechless was our love, and with veils has it been veiled ... And ever has it been that love knows not its own depth until the hour of separation. Mrs. Shelly Robbie Sincere, funloving, cheerful — the true essence of Mr. Wil¬ liam J. Fiske. Your friendship to me has been an unexpressable comfort. If I were to walk over the path that I have made through my life at F.H.S. — I would notice many changes. You have provided me with self-confidence in doing things on my own but most of all, you have given me a special friendship. You’ve had patience with us and have never lost your cool, you’re a person never having to weigh thoughts or measure words, but pouring all, right out as is — Your candle has burned from both ends many times through¬ out the year, but we always seem to catch up before it’s all burned out. I will forever remember all the laughter — the grief, the deadlines, and the many misplaced, soon recovered things. You ' re the greatest! Your future should not be satisfied with anything but the best. Love Ya, Bridge Mr. Fiske . . . Mr. Fiske .. . Bill! A person with Class, Dignity, and kindness — Mr. William J. Fiske. Over the past three years I have worked with one of the most under¬ standing, and friendliest person F.H.S. will ever have. His patience, guidance, and hard work is what made our yearbook work. There were many days when the desire was just not there. A few of us were breaking our backs, while the rest of the senior class complained about the produc¬ tion of our yearbooks, Oskey 81. BUT Mr. Fiske was there. He was the friend that we needed to encourage us to strive for the best. “Oskey 1981”, will probably get many different re¬ views and opinions. Just remember one thing, before you complain, where were you when we needed you? And for Mr. Fiske, I just want to say- one thing, thanks for putting up with me over the last three years — YOU’RE THE BEST!
