Just as the panther seeks newer and better hunting grounds, the students of Franklin High School are also bound for higher ground higher ground in the field of intellectual excellence. We, the LAUREL LEAF Staff of 1961, feel that the teachers have imparted to us many important lessons of life. So, as we walk through the doors of Franklin High School for the last time, we feel that we have been well prepared in the development of harmonious relationships with our fellow man and have been provided with an academic challenge with which to face life. Therefore, may the panther, our school’s athletic sym¬ bol, always have a double meaning for each of us. 5
