These cups, or hearts, symbolized love. As the God of Love, the King of Hearts has the highest value of any court or face card in the standard pack. Likewise, our seniors-those courtly souls-not only stand at the head of our school deck but also look back with nostalgic love upon the many 4'tricks which they have taken during their royal stay at Franklin. 13
