Foreword As we all well know, another year has gone by in the school life of 600 Franklin High School stu- dents and with it goes the memories of a school year which will live forever in their hearts as being the most rewarding and gratifying of their careers. For 134 of these scholars there will be no returning in August, there will only be the long road into a life whose foundations have been formed by a school and its instructors for four long years. And, in the future, there will be more graduates to take their places alongside these for as each year passes many faces disappear never to return. Others respond to their calling by completing a higher education before fulfilling their destiny! This year's seniors will leave with a comforting thought that as long as a Franklin High continues to exist, there will always be others of the same character and ability to fill the vacancies created by their departure. This is what we have attempted to present to you in this yearbook - the spirit, devotion and loy- alty of these students to their school., Whether this may be demonstrated by their participation in ath- letics, club organizations, civic groups, or just plain attending school is of little significance, for we only intend to demonstrate to you the major aspects of school life as it has existed at Franklin High School during the 1963-1964 school year, Had it not been for such dedicated individuals as our principal, Mr. Dry, our assistant prncipal, Miss O'Neill, and the remainder of the faculty,we might certainly be singing a different tune - for it is they who have instilled in us an inspiration of carry on and to do our best no matter with what we are occupied, As in most schools, there have been numerous organizations within the student body, and F,H.S, is no exception. We have thus duly recognized them along with the athletics, other extracurricular organizations, and the plain everyday chores of school life. Along with the process of learning comes a feeling of satisfaction for having accomplished a de- sired goal - this goal being to instill in all of us the ideals and aims of good citizens - truth, honor, and integrity. With further regard to the '64 Hornet, we hope that you will feel as we do and forever cherish the memories of your days at dear old Franklin High School.
