CLASS HISTORY Most of us remember the autumn of 1944 as the t1me of one ofthe most 1mportant events of our 11VeS We remember lt as the date of the begmnmg of the trek wh1ch has brought us to the present the sprmg of 1956 and our graduat1on from Frankhn H1gh We started as l1ttle blobs of matter wh1ch had to be form ed shaped and kneaded 1nto f1n1shed be1ngs ready to be turned out 1nto the world Our elementary teachers gave us our rough shape dur1ng our f1rst s1x years of school and f1nally the day arrxved when we were sh1pped to the f1n1sh1ng plant Jun1or H1gh School Through the seventh and e1ghth grades and our freshman year we were worked upon untxl at last 1n our Jumor H1gh graduat1onceremon1es we were declared ready for the set tmg and bak1ng processes that we rece1ved 1n Sen1or H1gh As Sophomores we became an organlzed class and se lected as our adv1sor Mrs Kendall, and as our off1cers D1ckRhoads Pres1dent AngelaDale,V1ce Pres1dent Mary Power Secretary and Bob Muse Treasurer Our act1v 1t1es 1ncluded the sell1ng of basketball penc1ls and the sell1ng of candy at the Jun1or and Semor plays and the Mus1cal Broad cast In the Spr1ngwe presented the annual Sophomore dance, Neptune's Parad1se and our fmrst soc1al funct1on was pro nounced a success Another year passed and we advanced one notch 1n rank and prest1ge to become the Jun1or Class In th1s capac1ty we aga1n chose Mrs Kendall as class adv1sor w1th the same off1cers as 1n the precedmg year As far as aCt1V1t1eS were concerned th1s was the b1g year We sold candy pop, and hot dogs at the games, basketball as well as football and after Chr1stmas we took up the sale of statlonery Both ac t1v1t1es were h1ghly successful Then came the t1me when we . 9 s . . l . - 9 n 1 . s , . s 9 s , - . , . -- n 3 2 1 3 J - ' . became dramat1c for a wh1le as we rehearsed and presented under the capable d1rect1on of M1ss Runmnger the .Tumor play ent1tled The Campbells Are Com1ng Th1s pro ductlon was accla1med as one of the all t1me greats 1n the annuals of F H S presentat1ons After the play we turned our attentxon to the prom honor1ng the Class of 55 After much hard work, much of the cred1t for wh1ch goes to Mrs Kendall we f1nally had the gym 1n preparedness for our Rose Fantasy Everyone agreed that lt was exqu1s1te Then lt came' Our Sen1or year was upon us but to our sorrow 1twas necessarythat Mrs Kendall take a s1ck leave, and 1n her place we put Mr Newell A major change 1n class adm1n1strat1on also came about, w1th Bob Muse tak1ng over S1ngleton the treasury Mary Power, however rema1ned as secretary Our f1rst aCt1V1ty of the year was the presen tat1on of the Football Dance after the O11 C1ty game Bomta Young was chosen as Football Queen to re1gn over the ball Then came our Semor play Stardust under the d1rect1on of M1ss Runmnger F1nally Chr1stmas was upon us and we undertook our last major act1v1ty the annual Chr1stmas Card sale After Chr1st mas we focused our attent1on on the events wh1ch were to come at the end of our school days The Junlors have honored us Wlth a prorn we have had our banquet, our dance our class p1cn1c and fmally the commencement for wh1ch we have waxted so long But now the t1me has arr1ved and we are shghtly reluctant to go But we must make way for another Sen1or Class and so we move 1nto the world wh1ch awa1ts us Farewell Frankl1n' Respectfully subm1tted Tony Harry lf' .
