A Mr Bowes B Parrlott N Versaw A Frxtson M Fruhlmg M McKee E Dallmann Mrs Grlffln Student Counc1l A Student Counc1l was organxzed 1n Frankl1n Hlgh School th1s year as a result of a poll taken by the faculty at the begmnmg of the year askmg the students what they cons1dered most needed ln our school A comm1ttee of slxteen members four from each class met durmg the noon hour Wlth Mrs W1lson and Mr Bowes for several months to draw up a constltutlon .Phe constltutlon was presented to the student body after the w1nter vacatlon for ratlflcatlon It was adopted and the elect1on of representatives of classes and organ lzatlons was held the followmg week The representatlves elected were dS follows Sen1or Class Earl Tuers Jr Arlene Fr1tson Jumor Class Marllyn McKee Ke1th Versaw Sophomore Class Madelon Fruhhng John Robmson Barbara Parrxott was elected the freshman representatlve when Ruth FTHHCIS moved away Pep Club Elnora Dallmann Musrc Department Earl DeJonge Y Teen Norma Jean Versaw Athletlc Department Dorsey Roath Offlcers elected for the Counc1l were Pres1dent Earl Tuers Jr Secretary Madelon Fruhllng Sponsors Betty Grlffm Mr Bowes The purpose of the orgamzatlon IS to 1mprowe the student teacher and student tudent relatlonshlps and better the harmony of the school Other h1ghl1ghts of the const1tut1on are Representatlves one boy and one g1rl from each class Pep Club and Y Teen are represented by one g1rl from each club the Athletxc and MUSIC Departments are represented by one boy from each Procedure elect1on qual1f1cat1ons for OfflC6 and methods of amendlng a1e also stated The Oflglllal const1tut1on has been slgned by the membe1s of the convention and placed ln the fll6S 1n the offlce Other 3CtlVlt19S of the counc1l were Sponsorlng the Wesleyan Male A Capella Chou and aSS1gI'll1'lg of halls to axd 1n ehmmatmg loss of personal belongmgs The p0SSlb1l1ty of fmdmg a perxod for a Vocal Muslc Class was dlscussed by the counc1l All aCt1V1t1GS of the counc1l were reported to the Flyer the school paper whxch was edxted by the Sen1or Engl1sh Class and the Commerc1al Department The Counc1l met on the thxrd Wednesday of each month durmg one class perlod The students W1Sh to thank Mrs W1lson and the other teachers for the tlme and effort they spent 1n makmg lt poss1ble for us to orgamze the Counc1l Back rowig.
