Well . . . we sloshed through that one-let's go on. Today, mathematics, the science of numbers and their relation to man, is a diversified field of work. This diversity is well exhibited by the range of courses offered to the students at Franklin. A new course, ninth grade gen- eral mathematics, has been added for those ninth grade students who are not taking Algebra I and II. Courses that have been added in recent years include Algebra III and IV, Honors Geometry, Trig- onometry, Analytic Geometry, and Calculus. These courses are taught in addition to Algebra I and II, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Re- view of Academic Mathematics. Ad- vanced courses have been placed in high schools and may provide advanced placement in college for some students. Review of General Mathematics is offered to students who are tak- ing the general course. Four new teachers added to the Mathematics Department are Mrs. Macquire and Mr. Nogle who teach ninth graders, and Mr. Sterling and Mr. Kreunen who teach students from all grades. . . . Mathematics Isn't math fun?
