The year 1883 became very important to the town of Franklin as it was the start of the Frankku The year 1883 became very important to the town of Franklin as it was the start of the Franklin School District, Number 650. The first graduating exercises were in 1908 with 8 students receiving their diplomas. The first teacher at FHS was Miss Mary Breen. The existing school building was constructed in 1898. Since the doors opened many activities started taking place. Some of the being: 1923 - The newspaper was called the Tickler . The last issue published in May of 1983 was called Tiger Tales . 1926 - The PTA was organized. Since then the name has been changed to Home-School Organization. 1945 - May, 1945 saw Franklin's First Prom. October - first homecoming festivities. 1946 - First Atom was published. - 1954 - Finished elementary edition. - 1963 - Decision was made to build new gymnasium. Home Ec. and Voc. Ag classrooms. - 1983 - Last graduating class consisting of 16 students to make the total number of graduates from Franklin High School 1200. Eight is Enough!
