F.F.A. CORNDRIVE The Franklin Chapter of the Future Farmers of America held their annual corndrive for Camp Courage with the hopes of reaching an unprecedented goal of $800. Thanks to the generosity of the area people in and around the Franklin area we were able to surpass our goal by collecting $1250. Sean Ness and Ed E. Nelson were the co-chairmen of this annual event. Thanks to their careful planning and the advice given them by Advisor Mr. Simmons, the Corndrive was the best ever. Linda Martzinski, a former patient of Camp Courage, was invited by the chapter to receive the check at a lyceum. She gave an interesting talk on the importance of enjoying life no matter what the circumstances. All and all the Corndrive provided for a very interesting experience for everyone. Pat Machtemes was elected as District Sentinal for the 1974 school year. I'm just sick of these rookies! Tom Simonsen was chosen for National F.F.A. Band, which played for the National Convention held in Kansas City, Kansas. 29
