This time a 3 man team made history by soaring into orbit around the moon 8 This diagram shows the path of the Apollo 8 in suc- cessfully achieving lunar orbit and then returning to Earth. 9. senator Edward Kennedy of Massachusetts eulogizes ins slain brother during funeral service for Senator Robert F. DONALD RINGBLOM We chose you, Mr. Ringblom, for several reasons. First, you have been with us all through our high school days. In those days we have had many happy memories and warm friendships. New, as we leave-you leave. Behind us is a pleasant past. Ahead of us is a challenging future. Being the head of a complete music department is not an easy task. But in the seven years that you have been with Franklin High School, every one of the band and chorus's have been very successful. We feel that the reason for this is your great ability to handle a group with authority and at the same time maintain the respect of the students. We, the class of 1969, and, we are sure all of the classes that have graduated before us and those that will graduate after us will never forget your friendly- smile and your kind words. In our modern society there is hate in men's ejes and ruthlessness in men's words. This is not time of you. You are one of the very few people that are genuine individualists. We will not forget our Freshmen year, when you as our class advisor gave us the helping hand that we needed. In our class projects you were there with ready advice and a helping hand. As we our s pea rate ways we will all encounter new friendships, but may the friendship that we have had with you go on for many many years to cone. The people of Franklin and the students of Franklin High School will never forget your wonderful personality and your dedication to your profession. Good luck and God Bless you always. BASKETBALL During the '68'-'69' basketball season the Frank- lin Tigers finished the season undefeated. In the first two tournament games the Tigers defeated Fairfax and Winthrop by several points. In the third game of the tournaments Franklin was stopped by a tough Redwood Falls team. However, pride is never defeated. Franklinites should be proud of their team, be- cause the Tigers won the conference championship and placed fourth in District 10. It takes a great team to win 19 games and lose only 2.
