Parade, Coronation and Game Highlight F.H.S. Homecoming FKANKLIN (Special) — This pert miss is Franklin High School's Homecoming Queen. She is Miss Maxine Pullen. Her • King was Donald Wosterman. Botii reigned over the recent Franklin Winthrop Homecom- ing game Queen Maxine Pullen and King Donald Westermann Reign At Homecoming Events The 1953 Franklin High School Homecoming Festivities commenced Thursday evening with a parade formed at the sehoolhouse, march- ing down the main street and cndiug at the foot-hall field, where a huge bonfire had been built. The king and queen’s float led the procession. The queen, Maxine Pullen, was crowned by Norman Knowles, cap- tain of the football team: her at- tendants were Joanne Kelly and Di- ane H age void. Donald Westermann was crowned king: his attendants were Jamefc Aldrich and Dale Han- son. The Juniors won the $5.00 prize for the best float. Judges for the floats were Mrs. Erwin Wester- mann, Mrs. Edwin Lentz and Pat Farrell. f 3 Friday evening, the Homecoming party was held in the Village Hall. Entertainment consisted of vocal aolos by Delinar Landgraff and Ted Peterson. George Elatad was the ac- companist. The king. Donald West- ermann. and the queen, Maxine Pul- len led the Grand March, after which the evening was spent in dancing. Punch was served. The king was presented with an identification bracelet and the queen received a necklace. Friday afternoon, the Homecoming football game, with Winthrop. was plawed on the local field. Franklin was unable to break into the win column as they went down into de- feat by a 27 to 12 score. The game ended the Homecoming festivities as well as the 1953 football season for the Franklin high school.
