In a simple, quiet ceremony. Bruce Schroeder. son of Mr. and iMrs. John Schroeder of Franklin, was married to i.Miss Beverly Smith of Redwood Falls, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Smith of St. Paul, at 4:00 p. m., Septem- ber 14, at Fort Dodge, Iowa. The Justice of the Peace performed the ceremony. Attendants were Mr. and Mirs. Edtward Sampson of Bel view. The couple are at hoane at Red- wood Falls at present, hut will move to Franklin when their new home, now under construction, is completed. Servicemen News — Ronald J. Julius Promoted To Rank of Captain Ronald Julius, 26, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Julius, has received word of his promotion to the ranks of Captain. Mr. Julius graduated from Franklin high school in 1953, alt- er which he went into jet pilot training, graduating at Chandler, Arizona, in 1955. Since then he has been an instructor in Alaba- ma and at Randolph Air Foice base near San Antonio, Texas. Captain Julius is now assigned to Air training Command Head- quarters and the 3300th Support Squadron. For the past several months he has been serving as Personal Pilot to General Briggs who is Commander of all Air Training Command bases. Captain Julius lives with his wife and three children in San Antonio, Texas, 4526 Eisenhauer . FRANKLIN (Special) — MB Sylvia Sherman, daughter of Mr. and Mri. Lynn Shermanfi, and 'David Sather, son of Mr. and Mrs. Obert Sather, all of Franklin, were married Sept. 25 at 7:30 p. m. hi St. Luke’s Lutheran Church by the Rev. Palmer E. Russeth. The bride was given in marriage by her father during the double ring ceremony. Mrs. James Hunt of Redwood Falls sang “The Wedding Prayer, ’ before the ceremony and Ted Pe- terson of Decorah, Iowa, sang The Lord’s Prayer” during the service. Miss Margaret Wcsterman of New Ulm was maid of honor and bridesmaids were sisters of the couple, Miss Mary Lou Sherman and Miss Janet Sather. Ellsworth Sather was his broth- er’s best man and groomsmen were Vernon Greenberg and John Hage- vold the bride’s cousin. A’reception for 200 guests was held In the church parlors. Mrs. Frank Sieber, aunt of the bride, cut and served the wedding cake: Miss Gladys Johnson of St. Paul, an- other aunt of the bride, and Mrs. Ruby Averill poured. Mrs. Winifred Balkenol and Miss Alyce Luepke had charge of the gifts and the guest book. Mr. and Mrs. Sather took a week’s honeymoon in Northern Min- nesota and Canada. They will re- side on a farm north of Franklin. They are both graduates of the Franklin High School, class of 1953. He has been farming since with his father. His bride attended Mankato Meyer Studio Photo Mr. and Mrs. Sather . . . Commercial College and was em ployed at the Citizens State Bank at Redwood Falls as a secretary and at the Marshall Wells Store in Sleepy Eye as secretary and! bookkeeper.
