Father Fashing performed the double ring ceremony Nov. 22. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Michael L. Weinzetl of Fairfax and Mr. and Mrs. Alby Brown of Franklin. The bride, given in marriage by her father, chose Carolyn Weinzetl as maid of honor and Karen Lof- felmacher as bridesmaid. Both are from St. Paul. Brother of the bride, James Weinzetl, was best man and LuVerne Dahl of Franklin was groomsman. After a brief honeymoon in Wisconsin, the couple are residing in Sleepy Ejfc Where they are both employed. ¥££ Meyer Studio Photo Mr. and Mrs. Prax FAIRFAX (Special) — Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Prax were given 'a reception Sept. 18 at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wenzel Prax, when they returned from their honeymoon on the north shore of Lake Superior and points of in- terest in Northern Minnesota. They were married at St. An- drews Catholic Church, Sept. 10. Mrs. Prax, the former Doris Boyum, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Boyum, was attended by Miss Helen Meyer and Robert Prax attended the bridegroom. About 175 were present at the reception which was followed by a dinner served at the St. Andrew's Social Center with the Rev. J. LeRoy Nevin performed the ceremony and Carolyn Olson sang “0 Per- fect Love” and “The Wedding Prayer,” accompanied by Mrs. Marvin Rodvik. Given in marriage by her fath- er, the bride wore a white satin gown with train, and a fingertip veil. She carried a bouquet of red roses. Mrs. Ed Johnson. Minneapolis, was her sister’s matron of honor, and bridesmaids were Mrs. David Brown, Franklin, and Deborah Johnson. Minneapolis, niece of the bride. Darcee Lee Michelson, Franklin, niece of the groom, was flower girl and wore a dress sim- ilar to the bride’s, a fingertip veil, and carried a basket of red roses. The matron of honor and brides- maids wore red dresses and had white chrysanthemum bouquets. Gordon Johnson and David Brown, both of Franklin, attend- ed the groom, and Orley Dahl, Bird Island, brother of the groom, and Ed Johnson seated the guests. Dale Dahl of Bird Island, nephew of the groom, was ringbearer. The bride’s mother chose a rose dress and the groom’s mother, a three-piece green lace dress. Their corsages were of white chrysan- themums. The Justice of the Peace performed the ceremony. Attendants were Mr. and Mirs. Edtward Sampson of Bel view. The couple are at hoane at Red- wood Falls at present, hut will move to Franklin when their new home, now under construction, is completed. Servicemen News — Ronald J. Julius Promoted To Rank of Captain Ronald Julius, 26, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Julius, has received word of his promotion to the ranks of Captain. Mr. Julius graduated from Franklin high school in 1953, alt- er which he went into jet pilot training, graduating at Chandler, Arizona, in 1955. Since then he has been an instructor in Alaba- ma and at Randolph Air Foice base near San Antonio, Texas. Captain Julius is now assigned to Air training Command Head- quarters and the 3300th Support Squadron. For the past several months he has been serving as Personal Pilot to General Briggs who is Commander of all Air Training Command bases. Captain Julius lives with his wife and three children in San Antonio, Texas, 4526 Eisenhauer _ . FRANKLIN (Special) — MB Sylvia Sherman, daughter of Mr. and Mri. Lynn Shermanfi, and 'David Sather, son of Mr. and Mrs. Obert Sather, all of Franklin, were married Sept. 25 at 7:30 p. m. hi St. Luke’s Lutheran Church by the Rev. Palmer E. Russeth. The bride was given in marriage by her father during the double ring ceremony. Mrs. James Hunt of Redwood Falls sang “The Wedding Prayer, ’ before the ceremony and Ted Pe- terson of Decorah, Iowa, sang The Lord’s Prayer” during the service. Miss Margaret Wcsterman of New Ulm was maid of honor and bridesmaids were sisters of the couple, Miss Mary Lou Sherman and Miss Janet Sather. Ellsworth Sather was his broth- er’s best man and groomsmen were Vernon Greenberg and John Hage- vold the bride’s cousin. A’reception for 200 guests was held In the church parlors. Mrs. Frank Sieber, aunt of the bride, cut and served the wedding cake: Miss Gladys Johnson of St. Paul, an- other aunt of the bride, and Mrs. Ruby Averill poured. Mrs. Winifred Balkenol and Miss Alyce Luepke had charge of the gifts and the guest book. Mr. and Mrs. Sather took a week’s honeymoon in Northern Min- nesota and Canada. They will re- side on a farm north of Franklin. They are both graduates of the Franklin High School, class of 1953. He has been farming since with his father. Botii reigned over the recent Franklin Winthrop Homecom- ing game Queen Maxine Pullen and King Donald Westermann Reign At Homecoming Events The 1953 Franklin High School Homecoming Festivities commenced Thursday evening with a parade formed at the sehoolhouse, march- ing down the main street and cndiug at the foot-hall field, where a huge bonfire had been built. The king and queen’s float led the procession. The queen, Maxine Pullen, was crowned by Norman Knowles, cap- tain of the football team: her at- tendants were Joanne Kelly and Di- ane H age void. Donald Westermann was crowned king: his attendants were Jamefc Aldrich and Dale Han- son. The Juniors won the $5.00 prize for the best float. Judges for the floats were Mrs. Erwin Wester- mann, Mrs. Edwin Lentz and Pat Farrell. f 3 Friday evening, the Homecoming party was held in the Village Hall. Entertainment consisted of vocal aolos by Delinar Landgraff and Ted Peterson. George Elatad was the ac- companist. The king. Donald West- ermann. and the queen, Maxine Pul- len led the Grand March, after which the evening was spent in dancing. Punch was served. The king was presented with an identification bracelet and the queen received a necklace. Friday afternoon, the Homecoming football game, with Winthrop. was plawed on the local field. Franklin was unable to break into the win column as they went down into de- feat by a 27 to 12 score.
