Though boys will always be boys, the girls iDeb Swain, Pat Buckman, and Sue Giermanl made it plain that A Secretary is Not a Toy. They weren't giving up without a chase. .3 my x. elf? Despite the fast approaching curtain time, Debi Ottman iHecly Laruel slowly and carefully put finishing touches on her eyes. Her role as a sexy, 12-words-a-minute typist required heavy, flamboyant make-up, taking as much as an hour and a halt to complete. Executive secretaries Kathy Graham, Pat Buckman, and Sue Veto lamented their purchases of identical dresses in the Paris Original number. Tickets for the Pulitzer Prize-winning comedy took the form of IBM cards as industrious crews and committees handled technical details. J. Pierrepont Finch, portrayed by Bill Donahue, is a young man with ambition who rises from window washer to Chairman of the Board. With the aid of a book, appropriately entitled How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying, he meets and conquers such ob- stacles as J. B. Biggley, the big boss CBob Hellsteinl, Bud Frump, his obnoxious nephew CDan Vigliarolol, Hedy Larue, Mr. Biggley's very personal secretary, and then Rosemary, a very marriageable young lady fKathy Gra- hami. Once again, the drama department has succeeded.

Franklin Players pursue dramag Debaters argue service For all Entranced with the nature of human behavior as revealed in drama, as much as with the bright lights of a waiting stage and the applause of a pleased audience, Franklin Players con- tinued the theatrical traditions they have established. In October they sponsored the fourth annual day-long bus trip to Stratford, Ontario, where the travellers saw the famous Shakespearean company perform A Midsummer Night's Dream. Spring plans leaned toward a slight revision in the One- Act-Play program. The group hoped to combine music and art achievements with drama for a Performing Arts Festival. Debaters had their ups and downs, as well as pros and cons this year.
