Enioying a more active diversion, Brad Lyons and Chris Lang 'did their own thing'.

Following some interesting speculation, Dogpatchers determined the identity of a fellow rustic. Was it Poncho Villa? Frito Bandito? The girls weren't telling. Proud of his winning corsage, Doug Sutton displayed nonchalance despite the admiration of Bonnie Buckingham, Chris Estland, Gayle Greenwald. Donning dotty Dogpatch duds, casual kids convene Take two parts jean, patches Cot a variety of colorsj, burlap, straw hats, and army boots, and add to it an assortment of vegetables and fruits. Use your own discretion. With a rhythmic motion, blend ingre- dients with music performed by Sue Kern and her band. Finally, fold in some 800 Franklin and Churchill students, perferably those slightly ripe after two months of school. Place mixture in a well-decorated gym. And the result? A wildly successful Sadie Hawkins! The traditional recipe was given some interesting variations by the Junior Class, sponsor ot the dance. Rhinestone rings replaced pipe cleaners to seal the knots made by Marryin' Sams Wayne Florida, Jim Kosteva, and Dave Faulkner. Another deviation from the norm occurred when two couples iSheila Stearns and Scott Fobbe, and Jim Kosteva and Carol Foleyl were chosen as the yegr's Best Costume winners. Gayle Greenwald and Fritzi Hyde were Daisy Maes, Jeff Kind Lil' Abner. .sit

Orient transforms cafeteria tor hangri-La Prom Cherry blossoms and paper lanterns helped set the scene for the mid-winter Junior Prom, as the class of '70 looked to the Orient for inspiration cmd romance for the dance they had been planning for nearly two years. Somewhat out of keeping with the theme, but in Hne dance harmony, was music furnished by the Sub- urban Knights Five. Otficers and their dates greeted guests in the traditional receiving line at the opening of the evening. The punch and cookie table was a favorite resting place between dances or after a slow promenade to show off the colorful semi-formal fashions common to the event. Focal point of the Oriental decorations throughout the cafeteria was a small pond with ceiling-high streamers above it. Visitors included Bill Holwig, Terri Wollens, Dave Mulkiten, and Terri Mclntash. Receiving line at the Prom consisted of class officers and their dates. Included were Bill Donahue with Kathy Graham, Gary Allan and Debbie Frecka, Scott Leggat, Carol Foley, April Burns, and Forrest Ault, who greeted the evening's guests, such as Bob Rogalski and Susan Kroggl,
