Active Council student involvement Posed with the problem of a new dress and groom- ing code, Franklin's Student Council joined forces with the other Livonia high schools in the form of LINC. Proposing vast changes, the all-city council sent several variations ot the new code to be confirmed by the Ad- ministration and the students. Led by officers John Tow- lerton, Bob Rogalski, Mike Hall, and Linda Larson, Coun- cil worked on instilling school spirit in Sophomores, as well as continuing the surge in upperclassmen. New tradition was set at Homecoming with the announcement of the Queen at the halt-time activities. events spark Traditional events sponsored by the Student Council remained as favorites: The March of Dimes peanuts sale collected money and weight, the Presidential crowned spring royalty. As a service to old and new students, the operation of the Used Book Store continued. Mr. John Graves, Student Activities Director, proved to be an exhuberant and qualified leader. 54' 753' is mv Mr. John Graves, Student Activities Director, read over finalized plans of the new Dress and Grooming code proposed this year.

Viola virtuoso Bill Donahue performed in the all-school Talent Show, rin aw sited annual event, sponsored by Student Council. ml' from hu .fsH1'J'35n ,,1sos!i,,,f:,.. M ,d , In Secretary Linda Larson and Sue Phillips concentrated on Council duties, while Scott Leggat and Kathy Graham attended an open meeting. Dick McAdam lupper leftj tried to interest fellow Juniors Bill Kumbier and Dove Olson in March of Dimes' peanuts for dessert. Diane Lang escorted ninth-grade students on a sightseeing tour of their next year's home. Both the peanut sale and the school tour are activities sponsored and supervised by Student Council members.
