Home Eo explodes with activity, initiates boys' cooking class Guys in the kitchen? Why not? One of Franklin's newest classes enabled all prospective male cooks, who had been in hiding, to come out from under cover and prove their abilities in the Franklin kitchens. In Commercial Foods the guys learned to cook meals on a large scale, such as for a hotel or for a restau- rant. The head cook, alias Mr. Anthony Zizzo, did a great iolo at keeping our guys out of the soup . Family Life Education included other classes such as Home Furnishings, Entertaining and Foods, and The Child. The most 'Fascinating feature of this department was the Franklin Play- school where the children of the 'Faculty came and during both semesters, child-care students watched them in the quiet solitude of the playroom where they worked and played. Laura Mclnteer asked her Fashion and Fabrics teacher, Mrs. Jiskra, a question while Kathy Plant and Laura Gaikowski decided not to let the guys show them up. l l 1 l 1 I i l l 4 l l l i
