Broadening horizons escalate English imaginations English teachers found themselves in practical need of their own product, effective communication, this year as they began a two-year curriculum revision program. Starting from scratch, the Department will design a completely new program based on the skill and enrich- ment needs that correspond to Franklin students abilities. in preparation this year for the first time was the English Resource Center, presided over by Mrs. Linder- man. Trudgeon Billy Cairo's grin was indicative of the enioyment that was both given and received by the Marching Band in their participation during half-time festivities. Drum maior Robin Spencer demonstrated rigid form and precision while assuming his performance stance. Music performers pursue perfection, cop honors Franklin's Music Department realifirmed the fact that there is no limitlto what time and talent and effort can do toward producing musical excellence. Not satis- fied with iust their award-winning mechanical skills, instrumental and vocal groups added creativity and in- spiration to come up with . . . more honors! Manning the helm in the sea of sound was Mr. Ballard, assisted by Mr. Trudgeon, Mrs. Duprey, and Mr. Ernst. Working together, they transformed vaguely concerned components into a closely knit but fiercely- competitive association of fledgling musicians.
