The tleet feet of Jack Clark and Dave Collins made impres- sions in Cross Country and Track. Carol Opland reigned as First Lady ofthe Presidential. Carol, Mary Lou Conrow and Jill Welch began cheerleading careers as reserves. Music honors at Solo and Ensemble Festival were won by Randy Fotiu, Nancy Kushigian, Frank McTaggart, Beth Shirley, Maura Taormina, Ron Zang, and Bill Donahue. Bill also made State Honors Band and Orchestra. Marsha Rappley scored in forensics, Nancy Kushigian and Chuck Murphy won recognition in debate, Nancy semi-finalled the Michigan Mathematics Prize Competition. Judy Cross and Chris Lang received Physical Education Department awards, Dorothy Pumo was honored for Latin excellence. For Carol Opland, Sophomore year brought o special honor: she is the only Sophomore to have been elected First Lady of the April Presidential. Olticers elected the previous spring included Peter Mac- Lean, president, Brian Bates, vice-president, Charles Murphy, secretary, Cynthia Cardinal, treasurer. Carol Opland and Pat Lissandrello represented our class on the Homecoming Court. Andrea Gordon and Bob Santilli reigned as Daisy Mae and L'il Abner at Sadie Hawkins. Dave Collins and Jack Clark con- tinued to burn up the Cross Country trails, with Jack voted most valuable on the team. Frank Rekieta received a similar honor in wrestling and made the All-League team. Carol Opland, Mary Lou Conrow and Jill Welch moved up to varsity cheer- leading, ioined by Maura Taormina. Pat Marsh, Kathy Pegg, Barb Pehrson, and Bonida Dollins were reserves. Getting class rings added iust the right touch to our Christmas memories. Bill Donahue, ragged and freckled, ioined in the spirit and fun of the annual Sadie Hawkins dance, which was one of our successful Junior-year proiects. Rx than slfii l
