VARSITY BASKETBALL Showing complete reversal of last season's form, when the Green and Gold hoopsters won only six games and lost twelve, this year's quintet concluded the most successful season at R. H. S. since 1944-45 by winning 12 and drop- ping 6. It was a veteran team well rounded with height, experience, speed and. most of all, the ability to score often. Faced with a strong schedule of opponents, which included the ever power- ful Poughkeepsie, Arlington, and Wappingers Falls fives, and spiced with tradi- tional battles with strong area teams like Cardinal Farley, Highland. New Paltz. and Millbrook, the Roosevelt Raiders started the season with 16 straight victories before running into a series of disheartening reverses. ' Next year's team. being composed of some of this year's varsity and those moved up from J. V., promises a season almost equal to this year's. R. H. S. 64 - 45 New Paltz R. H.
