gl.. 1 C , 0 2. I WIRLERS Under the able leadership of Joan Joyce, the Q4 Roosevelt Twirlers have progressed greatly these last two years. During the football season these attractive young ladies perform in cold and rainy Weather. When the band concert is held, they twirl to music as only determined and accom- plished twirlers can. Every year a festival is held in which Twirlers from surrounding schools perform. Our girls may hold their heads up proudly because Roosevelt was the only school in which all the Twirlers received top rating. Now they have become teachers, instructing the younger girls who will lead our band in the next few years. I MODERN DANCE With poise, grace, and artistry, the Roosevelt version of the Rockettes made several public appearances during the year. They performed at the Harvest Festival. the Rooseveltian Review and the Exhibitions. Numbers range from folk dances to interpretations of modern popular numbers. ' l if 'af .gwzv 1 I .- 4 QQ' .WQ1 ,. The group occasionally sponsors a social af- fair at school and generally stands for good sportsmanship in all activities.

There is hardly a student at Roosevelt who has not heard that command in the corridors. Since over 600 students are turned loose at the 'end of each class period, some provisions had to be made to control the traffic situation.
