This activity offers a rare opportunity to novices as well as to those who have already had some musical training. Mem- bers learn to recognize and appreciate some of the better known works of the masters. They are also taught many vocal techniques for their own singing en- joyment. The Cilee Club participated in the P. T. A. entertainment, the Christmas assembly, the Harvest Festival, the annual Cilee Club Concert, and the Bac- calaureate Service. Every year several outstanding vocalists are discovered and developed. Who knows when we may find a second Lily Pons? wa? 15 Stream 47

BAND President, STANLEY PAUL Secretary-Treasurer, ERNESQT FRANK Vice President, ROBERT WILLETS Conductor, MR. AYLMER MUSSELMAN There's music in the air applies here at R. H. S. on those various occasions when our fine band appears. At each assembly, at home football games, at the Harvest Festival and at special concerts the students have the opportunity to hear this versatile musical group. Since each performance means hours of serious re- hearsal, those who participate deserve every honor and recognition offered them. Three major appearances were on this year's calendar. Four band members - Stanley Paul, Robert Willets, Ernest Frank, and Robert Schwartz - played in the All-State Band in the Westchester County area, a great honor and privilege for these boys. On April 8 the Band appeared in its Spring Concert, resplendent in new uniforms, and on May 6 seven members participated in the Spring Festival in Hudson. The R. I-I. S. band is one of the most active groups in school and deserves sincere applause for its work throughout the year.
