.V. SHUWS GCOD IGNS FOR THE FUTURE The mighty J.V. football team of F.D.R. had a respective season by winning 7 games and only losing 3. The student body of Roo- sevelt felt that the team just wouldn't make it because of the slump they were having in pre-season action, but it would turn out that if there were play-offs for J.V. teams the Mustangs would have made it going as a district 10-5A runner up. The J.V. finished second by only losing one district game to the arch rival Skyline Raiders, but as you see the J.V. felt pity for no team. They set a record of 5 consecutive shut-outs and a total of 6. The most impres- sive victories were over newly-arrived ri- val: Spruce, and the old one, South Oak Cliff. The J.V. impressed many because they feel with the success of the 1981-82 squad and this years squad, the varsity squad of 83 is almost certain to win a playoff birth. The young and talented team averaged 30 pts. per game by scoring a total of 226 points, while only allowing 5.4 points a game, just giving up 54 points. 0 Wilmer-Hutchins 21 6 Kimball 21 0 Skyline 6 40 Woodrow Wilson 0 i ?'2l' 1046253313 ' 36 Bryan Adams 0 32 Pinkston 0 40 Samuell 0 26 Spruce 0 34 S.O.C. 6 12 Poly 0 First Row left to right: Kenneth Walker, Yvande Rainwater, Perry Davis, Anth- ony Mabery, Paul Webb, Derrick Smith, Timothy Jones, Robert McWright, Jackie Turner, Second Row Left to Right: Jimmie Vaughn, Trainer-Steven Walker, Gary Priutt, James Foster, Jerry Graham, Rodney Jackson, James Brown, Michael Nixon, Edward Henderson, Ivory Jackson, Roy Taylor, Trainer-Leroy Pierson, Jonathan Okray Third Row Left To Right: Head J.V.
