Coup by Trujillo Family Feared Ruskuqlndicates Readiness to Bar Power Seizure by Dictatorship The United States yesterday expressed deep Curl' cern over political developments in the Dominican Re- public and implied force would be useduif necessary to keep a new dictatorship from being set up following the resignation of Gen. Rafael Trujillo Jr. as leader of the Latin nationts armed forces. An extraordinary statement by Secretary of State Dean Rusk warned that members of the Trujillo family may be plotting to seize power. Washington officials said that the range of possible U.S. action is broad and would not necessarily be confined to moves within the Organization of American States. The possibility that Marines might be sent into the Dominican Republic was not ruled out. At the Mayport Naval Station, the giant carrier Franklin D. Roosevelt received hurry-up orders to ui to sea. Navy sources were tight lipped about her es- tination. A high Navy source in Washington said the ship was sailing on direct orders of the Joint Chiefs ot Staff. Personnel Recalled Ycsterday afternoon personnel from Carrier Air Group 1. which includes five squadrons based at Cecil Field and Jacksonville Naval Air stations. were sum- moned back to the Roosevelt. Many CAG l officers and men had left the carrier only a. few hours earlier, after she moored at 7:45 a.m. following routine operations at sea. A numhcr of chartered buses were utilized to carry personnel back to Mayport. Aircraft were loaded aboard the Roosevelt early last night.
