MACON'S BUSINESS COLLEGE OPENS Louisburg, N.C.- Miss Matilda Macon has announced the open- ing of her Business College. The college has one dormitory and ten teachers, They include Misses Laura Wright, Alice M. Stokes, Rosa Perry, and Mrs. Bessie Reed Williams. NURSES GO to WORK IN GHANA Washington, D.C.- Miss Gladys Stroud, Lois M. Moore, Bettye Brodie, all Red Cross Nurses, have safely arrived in Ghana. TO TEACH AT SHAW UNIVERSITY Raleigh, N.C.-Miss Johnnie E. Strickland, Home Economic Ex- pert, has been appointed to the staff of Shaw U. SUCCESSFUL WOMAN FLYER Rome, Italy- Miss Nancy Bradford, first woman jet pilot, flew around the world in 8 hours. MUSTANGS WIN OVER NATIONALS Detroit, Mich.- The famous football team, the Mustangs of Baltimore, Md. won the championship from the Nationals of this city. The spectacular stars were Raymond Yarboro, Reuval Jones, Harvey Spivey, andPlummer Williamson. These Stars, with Coach Kenneth Harris, were graduates of F.C.T.S. in 1958. NEW EDITOR OF LOCAL PAPER Los Angeles, Cal.- Mr. Wiley Davis was appointed new editor of THE NEWS DISTURBER. The reporters are Carter Lewis and George Milon. WILL VISIT HOMETOWN New York, N.C.- The famous model, Miss Elizabeth Butts, for- merly of Lovisburg, N.C. will spendher vacation with her parents and friends before sailing to Europe. NEW DISCOVERY Germany- In his famous Black Town laboratory in Louisburg, Germany, Professor Pernel| Hartsfield's latest discovery is his meal pill . His sleep walking pill is being perfected. I N iY Norfolk, Va.- The following girlshave made the Army Air Force their career: Misses Ethel Foster, Clara Cooke, and Elnora Wright. They are outstanding Sargeants after only two years in service, «FAMOUS PICTURE STOLEN Paris, France- The Famous Sputnik, painted by the notedartist and designer, Miss Frances Whitaker, was stolen from her manslon during an exhibition of her famous pictures. Ithas been recently announced that Robert Lee Alston and Charles Moore, members of the city police force, have been promoted to sergeants, Ralph Brown, a former studentof F.C.1.5 «, Is stationed overseas.
