Here We Go Again Act I: First Day of School Scene :ا Curtain opens on FCHS right before the bell rings on the first day of school. The temperature is 95 degrees and climbing. The halls are filled with students, students, students, and more students. Polinsky: Help! Help! Anybody!! Hey, you're Billy Greenberg, fantastic ping-pong player and good-looking hunk of bod, right? Greenberg: Duh, yeah, That's me. Polinsky: What do | do? My homeroom is 162. | can’t find it!! (in near panic) Is it on the third floor with the swimming pool? | have my elevator passes, but | can’t find that either! Greenberg: Oh, all you do, see...is... Lemme think. . . Go up this hall to the back foyer and take a left about in the middle. You can’t miss it. It is the big one with all the plush chairs. Hey, man, you got it made! Polinsky: Great, thanks! Oh, do you know where | could get a study hall notebook? Scene II: In Homeroom Greenberg: Hey, Alfalfa I left some turkey soph- omore waiting in the auditorium for her homeroom teacher! Ain't it a laugh? Hey, what is 10 in the matter with you? Smith: I knew it. I knew I'd get Mrs. Crabapple for homeroom again. | won't make it! | hate when she gets her stop watch out and stands at the door for tardies. It drives me right up the wall! Wow, it’s hot. What are they trying to do — boil us alive? This is no time for school. Greenberg: (Holding a paper) | hate these forms. My own Mother doesn’t even know when my brothers’ and sisters’ birthdays are. Why does the school need to know? Smith: Hey, what’s this? School rules? School rules??? NO SMOKING??? I’m having nicotine fits already. Greenberg: This is a trip, man. (Bell rings; students pick up the 13 forms for their parents to fill out) Smith: Whew! It’s about time. | thought that desk had become permanently glued to my body! Greenberg: Yeah. I’ve about decided it’s too early for school. I’m taking the day off tomorrow and going out to the creek. Wanna come?
