EDITOR'S MESSAGE If at first you don't succeed, try, try, again. This motto will always have a place in my memory because | frequently resorted to it during the frantic moments of copy deadlines, last minute pictures and copy layouts. From working on this yearbook | can always look back to the memory of the cooperative spirit of students, staff, and sponsor in creating the Flyer of 1966. | am aware, that however my Seed of Knowl- edge shall grow, mine will have a more ригров ш 9 stence, having worked for the studen s of y: lin County. yn yw | | Sos Greg Marshall, Editor ө” А 2 GREG MARSHALL YEARBOOK STAFF Once upon a time, Greg Marshall took that fateful walk up the stairs and down three doors to the right and came upon that land of oblivion, the yearbook room. Upon reaching his Kingdom, Marshall met with the Chief's-of-Staff in a conference concerning the Book that he and his cohorts were planning for May, 1966. No one uttered a sound (except Karen, who was attempting to learn the keyboard before she began her job as Organizations editor.) Thus Greg proceeded to lay out his plans for the greatest: publication Frank- lin County would ever see. But just as he began to speak, Carol screeched, I just lost $20.00! Where could | have spent it? Upon hearing her cry, Betty rose up and said, I cannot tell a lie. | spent it on advertising posters for yearbook sales. Thank you, Carol said, relieved, just as Greg was about to speak again. His voice was tired, but he still managed to blurt out, “Hodges! What about the candids? As Phil jumped and grabbed his camera, Mary Ella, the faculty editor, carried his film and scurried along to plan some pictures for her section. Doreen and Paula, the Junior and Sophomore editors were busy avoiding the onslaught of that art editor, Gary Eblen, who was making artistic kick me signs. Upon seeing this nonsense, Greg commanded that everyone get busy, even Mike, who was fighting with Gail over whether there should be more pages of football players or more of cheerleaders. Jere Fran, having arranged her senior pictures in alphabetical order, was ready to suggest that everyone leave, when Ann, throwing her books on a table screamed, Notice from Taylor!—deadline’s Friday! Kendell and Rendell sighed “Not another one! Pens were hurried, pictures were snapped, books were valanced, and then it was all over. The staff walked out for the last time—successful and proud, the FLYER was finished. MRC JEAN KARSNER Soonsor
