Be ever mindful of our needs And teach us how to pray. Help us to make our avenues Be always straight and fair And lead to that eternal home Where joy reigneth there. Let us rededicate ourselves to the ambition that Franklin County High School be made a finer center of learning as each bit of the future takes its place as a part of the present, and let all who love Franklin County High School aspire to preserve and sustain the' wonderful spirit of Franklin County High School throughout all c our days. Roy Bondurant, Superintendent FRANKLIN COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL Office of the Principal PRINCIPAL'S МЕ55АСЕ The Franklin County High School is more than a building, more than a student body, more than a faculty, more than a basketball, football, or tennis team, more than an academic program; її is a combination of these things plus many more. Our school is made up of both the tangible and the intangible, the material as well as the spiritual. It is the sum total of the combined effort of nearly a thousand students coupled with the assistance, direction, and guidance of the faculty, par- ents, and friends. І am pleased and proud to be a member of this faculty, to be the principal of this fine high school, and to be your friend and to have you as my friend. Let us keep it on this mutual basis and work together for a better Franklin County High School as the years pass by. Ronald Connelly Principal Mr. Elmer C. After the first pre- liminaries of becoming adjusted, we began to feel more at home and in the spirit of things. This first year we won our first of three sportsmanship trophies at the Mid-State Tournament. We also had the best cheerleaders in the state. When our sophomore year ended, everyone was looking forward to our junior year. We entered our junior year with the enthusiasm of those who are a little closer to the honor of becoming exalted (or should we say exhausted?) seniors. The year passed quickly with our giving the seniors a farewell swimming party at Juniper Hill. In the fall of 1960 we enrolled at F.C.H.S. for our last year. We welcomed new leaders in the school system. Mr. Roy Bondurant, a well-known county teacher in Franklin County, became superintendent of county schools. At F.C.H.S. we were fortunate in getting Mr. Ronald Connelly as principal and Mr. Elmer Moore assistant principal. They have been a great help to us during the past year. Our senior year was filled with many memorable events—a few of which were ordering our senior pictures, trying on class rings for the first time, addressing our invitations, the excitement of prom night, and finally the wonder of COMMENCE- MENT. Thus ends chapter three in the History of Franklin County High School; and we, the graduating seniors, diploma in hand, bid a fond farewell to our Alma Mater as we stand on the threshold of our future. 82 PROPHECY What's in a name?
