THE HOURS SPENT in the classroom were the most valuable ones during the day. Students acquired knowledge in subjects ranging from vo-ag and home economics to physics and English grammar. Special visi- tors, reports, movies, and field trips reliev- ed the daily pattern of problem-solving, reading, and discussion. New textbooks in several classes brought them up to date, Also new at Franklin County High School this year was the full time guidance pro- gram. Despite rain and mud our cheer- leaders add color and enthusiasm to Homecoming. Working in the library one period each day is part of the purpose of the Library Club. The girls help stu- dents find and check out books and perform other useful tasks for the librarians. club days The Alpha Tri-Hi-Y and Junior Tri-Hi-Y co-spon- sor weekly devotions which are given over the intercom. The two clubs alternate the responsibility of securing and presenting the speaker of the week. Ministers and religious leaders throughout the county have co-operated with the clubs making it a successful project. Pictured here are Jesse Fralin, The Reverend Robert Estes, and Mary Jo Bryant.
