-' McGill, to the team members. Across the street in Martha Sego's dance salon is playing the name band, Keith Heiney and his Hoosier Maniacs. As we glidetacross the floor we see two eyes peering around the microphoneg they belong to none other than Carol Neese, ,who has just returned from her European concert tour. She- has the distinction of being the shortest soprano to sing at the Met. She is accompanied by Dan Fetterley, currently re- tired from the navy with the rank of admiral, on a uke. Not being in a mood for dancing we start on down the street. We see some of the other occupations enga - ed in the class of 53 . Arlene Rhodes and Norma Stark are vieing with each other to see who can recruit tie most able bodied men to join the Marines in Arlene's case, or the Army in Norrna's. Not wishing to join the ser- vice we walk into the Robinette Barber Shop. It seems the feature of this place is Ted's imported German Girls who have just finished a course in Bill McDonalds' Personal school of manicuring. If you want to secure advise on bird watching just go to the back of the barber shop and ask for Melvin Smith. As we stumble through the smoke filled room to collect our advise we see three engaged in a game of poker. They are Jim Woods, Bo Raney, and Merrill Smith. We have just been informed that Gwendolyn Allen has taken a job as secretary to the Supt. of Schools, Stanley Montgomery. Don Dunn is teaching a course in electronics: for the first time at FHS. Bob Stubby Garrison has been teaching shop classes for five years without a mishap. There is also a new band directorg he is Phil Humghey, toughest director the school has ever had. Annette Petro is teaching a Home Ec. course on how to attract an keep that man. The history job has been taken by Art Turner. The way the story goes he received a key ring for raduation and felt that this was his calling to the history teachin profession. Down from Purdue's teaching stafgwe have those former football stars Tom Scott, and Richard Vangleave, searching for material for the Boiler- maker's grid squad. Dick Coffey is seen dragging his mangled features down the street. It seems that last game he and his be- loved Rams played against the Chicago Bears was a rough one. As Judy Babcock walks pertly along the street, the information reaches our ears that she must hurry back to New York where the national convention for SAE house- mothers is being held. Just returned from Ethopia is WAC general, Alice Colin, and also walking along the thoro- fare is Mary Frazier, Madame Plaster from Paris , the noted sculptor. The town's leading industry is the firm of Janice Perry and Barbara Coffman engaged in the manufacture of space helmets. Esther Ramsey, top fashion model, has the contract for modeling and showing the headpieces. Seeing that all of the members of the Class of 1953 are accounted for, we pointed our three and a half eyes toward Mars and disappeared. I 27

PRUPHECY , The 1973 State BasketballFinals have just been complet- ed and Franklin emerged the victor. The games have been played in the Franklin Field House with Bill Wheeler, the up and coming basketball coach at I. U. officiating the games. He was ably assisted by James Eyes Acher. As we ascend from the hundred and second row and make our way down the long ramps we are confronted with Walter Smith, janitor, push- ing dirt, waste, and empty popcorn sacks under the bleachers J in true Garrett fashion. Quickly our eyes are cauglht by an ob- J J ject above the crowd. It's none other than Jo n McClain. J Rumor has it that John has two fingers bandagedg it seems he was polishing too many apples to get the ,position of principal at our dear ole Alma Mater. Everyone's attention is directed to the North exit where Chief o Police, Tom Kerlin, is holding back the crowd to let Clive Lewis, manager and star of Ice Capades and some of his cast make their grand exit. As we get a closer look we see that it is that inseparable pair, Bebe Flashing Blades Wilson and Loretta Twinkle Toes Kellams who are currently featured in the show. A loud roar is heard in a far corner. Upon investigation we learn that Pat Lemons, now running for the office of president of the Nicotine Anonymous is arguing with the popular debater,Caro1e Jacobs, on the values of cigarettes to the modern girl. Leaving the gym we notice a poster advertising the appearance of Janice Deputy's Arkansas Travelers, the only girls team to eat the Globe Trotters who were without the services of their captain, Bill VanCleave. On the bulletin board are other notices of the doings ofathletes who are Fl-lSgraduates. ZeltaFulkerson has won the hun- dred yard dash in the olympics this past year. Other team members were Ann Amazon Mitchell who took firstin the womens division of the shot put and Doris Kennedy, worlds contender for the high hurdle record. Now, the parade downtown begins, led by Eddie Catt and his new custom Chevrolet. We join the joyous throng and pass by Buford VanCleave who just came rushing from the church at which he is pastor and is trying to hush the bedlam which is interrupting his service. Then we see Don Risinger, representative for Double Bubble With No Trouble chewing gum, and giving the kiddies samples when their mothers aren't looking. Dick Sefton is circulating through the crowd still trying to pull a bop joke. At his side is Ed Scott who is on a crusade for the introducing of Geisha Girls in the U. S. Across the street is Connie Fricker, New York sweater model, talk- ing to Nanci Jones, noted author, of a book entitled HOW TO CULTIVATE A FEMININE LAUGH. Our eyes catch the pleasant smile of Sue Perkinsg upon talking to her she tells us that she is the critic for Nanci's new book. She also adds the latest bit of glossip, that Carol Barglpr has a new five year contract with the Amity TV station for her new show, I-loedown wit Carol and that Edit Vance holds the worlds record for fla - pole sitting. We are also informed that Eva Partenheimer Beard is now an exporter of seal skins straight from E- laskag while Sylvia Wheet and Joyce Harrison are currently booked at Town Hall with their startling lecture The Evils of Men .' Sue adds that Raymond Featherngill's diamond business has not been hampered in t e least by this lecture. The pain of a splitting headache now drives us into the nearest drug store only to find Melvin Davis head Pharmacist slinging Bromo's at a mad pace. Quickly ducking a Flying Bromo and biting the dust we encounter none other than Betty Walters, lady archeologist, hunting her old fossils. Our head once more clear we step outside to see Robert Johnson, Manager of the cat farm walk u boldly and shake the hand of Bob Hendricks, president of the National Cowhands Union. We over hear him say that his farm hand, Larry Lee has taken a leave of absence to serve a term as Representative in Washington. While conversing Covella Sturgeon walks up and gives the two a strange look. She is a biology teacher at Yale. Whipping by is Dick Campbell, manufacturer of station wagons specially built to hold twenty girls. Out on the street there is a loud crash which draws our attention. Out of the crumpled mass comes Caryoll Atwood raving furiously that she has to get her road equipment out on 44. You see Caryoll is now with the state highway department maintaining the road between Franklin and Shelbyville. The team now leaves the parade to go to Margaret Rices's lunch room, commonly known as Eat with Pete! . It has been reported that Jim Lawson, prominent jeweler, plans to give diamond stick pins, stones cut by Larry
