A full-time staff of qualified teachers stimulates English students with a chal- lenging program of in-depth reading, writ- ing and analysis. Because they stress superior instruction, Franklin English pro- fessors strive to remain intellectually alive through teaching in many different areas. Aiming for intellectual curiosity, -English majors take 16 specific hours in English, including three courses in major writers and one course in Shakespeare. In addi- tion, through various electives, majors are able to broaden their field of knowledge and pursue other interests.
