He eontrilmutes to numerous educational magazines. His recent hook, The Basis of Practical Teaching, is used as the authorized institute hook for the teachers of seven states, and in numerous Normal Schools. He is now President of the Indiana Teach- ers' Association and has served as the President of the Southern Indiana Teachers' Association. . Doctor Bryan is a graduate of the Indiana State Normal School and of Indiana University. I-le has heen principal ol' the Kokomo High School, a memher of the faculty of the Indianapolis Manual Training High School and head of the depart- ment ol' the Social and Iiducational Science in Butler College. In 1897 he held the Assistant Professorship of Pedagogy in Indiana University and later became Associate Professor. The years i898-IQOO he spent as a graduate student in Har- vard and Clark Universities. The United States government invited him in l90l to organize a system of Normal Schools and to serve as Principal ol' the Insular Normal School of Manila.
