Amid the pandemonium generated ata typical Franklin Central athletic contest, two groups of people stand apart from all others on the sidelines. These are the ex- cellent staff of coaches and the three cheer- leading squads here at the home of the Flashes. Although the intricate movements of the participants appear to be quite ran- dom to the uneducated eye, each motion is preplanned by an expert coach. The at times arduous task of maintaining a high level of school spirit is willingly under- taken by the cheerleaders. These girls are responsible for the vocal support given the laboring athletes. Their efforts are time- consuming, but gratifying. Because of the long hours of intense practice they spend, success of sports is a real one. Truly, sports in action is the by-word ofthese unselfish and dedicated people. FC's chief school spirit sparks were varsity cheerleaders Sherry Runyon, Bonnie Ewalt, Janie Jones, Jean Griffin, and Sherri Hotze.
