SOCCER TEAM A new experience in the way of I3.I.S. activi- ties, this year's soccer team, coached by Mr. a'Barrow, played German, U.S. Military, and International School teams. The season's highlights included a trip to Hamburg to play the Internationl School there and a visit by the American International School of Vienna, which provided F.I.S. students with a new incentive for school spirit. Front row: Gary Olson, Mahmut Bakay, Bob Leopold, Peter Hammargren, Mark Schumacher, Loren Sweet, Peter Macdonald, Kurt Schumacher Front row fleft to rightj: Mike Herb, Bob Leopold, David Fleming l:.l.S. BASKETBALL TEAM Bill Grover, the team captain, recruited players from the Upper School, and the first F.I.S. basketball team came into being. The season began with a close game against Ham- burg, and ended with a game against the American International School of Vienna, in which ELS. scored the most points ever scored against that team. Unfortunately, the F.I.S. team lacked a coach at the beginning of the season, but Mr. Hess was finally found for the job. No one realized how demanding he would be! The team has been working out in Camp King gymnasium under Mr. Hess' supervision, and is prepared to begin a good season in 68-69. Hopefully a season with more games and more victories! Buck row: Lloyd Evans, Bill Vissers, Chris Brunner, Iim Lucas, Bill Grover, captain, John McCarthy
