An assembly was scheduled to acquaint students with the basic principles of wrestling, to stimulate student interest and to obtain their support. The match held at Frankfurt, was one of the most spirited of the season, with avid fans from both schools attending in substantial numbers. Buddy Carroll demonstrates the style that may bring him the record again this year. The first days of the official track season started with the most promising turnout Frankfurt has ever seen. Numbering in the upper seventies, those who turned out included in their midst returning lettermen Scott Swedberg and Buddy Carroll, record holders of the high and low hurdles, as well as Stan McKee, Dallas Jaeckels, and Ernest Kish, pole vaulters. Also returning this year was Mike Lane,long distance man, Roy Collier of the relay and discus events, and Larry Morris, veteran trackman from Ludwigsburg. Karl Kyarsgaard heaves the shot- put in practice. Nurenburg transfer, Jack Neville placed third in the discus event at the Northern Regional meet last year.
