6 Audio-visual-aid assistants, like David Borgas and Buddy Hickman, lower right, are always willing to share their time with teachers who request a movie or slides as an added supplement for their classes. These aids benefit the students by visually sounding out their knowledge of a particular subject. Wayne Carroll. It also helps students withtheir outside reference work by providing encyclopedias, dictionaries, and reading guides. Probably the most outstanding features of the library are the Vocational guides and the reference room. The latter has been the chief goal of Miss Henderson, the librarian. Once a classroom, it was recently converted 'into a supplementary research room where talks can be given, discussions held, and classes and clubs can meet without interruption. Another goal, improvement of the selection'of books, has slowly been realized since 1959. Inconnectionwith this, the number of books has increased from3,000 to 7,500. The audio-visual aids program, consisting of films and film strips, phonograph records, and tapes covering a wide range of material, is also closely connected with the library. The library assistants Wayne Carroll, George Ludergan, Diane De Bruler, Jenny Granlund, Alan Carey, Geary Turner' fabovej help Miss Henderson with the library to keep it running smoothly while they learn the techniques of library science. Here they are putting the College Bulletins in order. What is it like to stand in front of one's classmates for a day? Would llike to do this every day? These are some of the questions which are answered for the future teachers of Frankfurt by the annual Student Teachers Day sponsored by this club each year. These students also gain invaluable experience by assisting teachers with routine work, hearing lectures, seeing films about the qualities of a good teacher, methods of teaching, and learning of the rewards gained fromteaching.Atripto a German school permitted themto observe first hand the differences ,in the teaching methods of the two countries.
