This familiar phrase was repeated time and time again during the first weeks of the 1961-62 school year. In October the majority of the F,H.S. student body complied with this wish by voting in favor of the proposed constitution. The student council which was formed according to this document has had a greater amount of freedom than any previous one. During the first semester,the Council under the direction of Mr. Edward Koch undertook many projects. Especially notable were the planning and hosting of the first F,HtS. Leadership Conference, held at Winterberg, Germany, on December 8,9, and 10, and thepublication of the Student Council Crier, a paper designed to keep the student body in touch with the activities of its government. Simian! axonal! zecalcfaea SUSAN PAYNE, Corresponding Secretary first senior privilege being excused five minutes early for assemblies and having their own reserved section. The sale of articles by the different clubs and classes was also approved and the Winter Ball was given to the Sophomore Class. The second semester opened with an explosive election. Many ofthe candidates expressed their dissatisfaction with the use to which the Council had put the constitution. In spite of this, the same group, with the exception of a new Vice-President Bob McCoy, was elected. The Spring Carnival, which provided an opportunity for all clubs to present an attraction in order to earn money, brought to a close a busy and successful year. 124 ROBERT SLEEKER, Treasurer
